Birdwatching Tips

At Wildlife Habitat:

  • Look Up: Many birds love to perch high and observe the world below, so don’t forget to scan the treetops.
  • Look Down: Many of our birds prefer to keep their feet firmly planted on solid ground, be sure to watch your step!
  • Slow Down: Birds are naturally curious but shy. Approach quietly and give them space to show off their personalities. Allow them to come to you!

In the Wild:

  • Start Early: Birds are most active at dawn when they’re out foraging and singing.
  • Bring Binoculars: A good pair of binoculars can help you spot even the smallest details of a bird’s plumage.
  • Listen Closely: Learn to identify birds by their calls; it’s a great way to spot them even when they’re hidden.
