Ella the Eastern Grey Kangaroo joey

Here in the Wildlife Habitat Care Centre, we get lots of animals coming through needing our love and attention. Sometimes, we get animals that we really, REALLY fall in love with! Ella the Eastern Grey Kangaroo joey is one of them.

Ella has been with us for a few months now, and has been hand-raised. Sadly her mum tossed her from the pouch when she was very young, so we’ve been raising her since. Initially, she was taken home by a keeper each night as she required 4 hourly feeds – almost like a human baby!

She’s now growing older, which means she can start to eat solid foods and doesn’t require such frequent feeds.

At the moment, she’s living in our Care Centre with regular visits outside to explore her surroundings. Once she’s a bit older, she’ll be moved to our general population of kangaroos and wallabies in the Savannah Habitat of our park.

You can meet the animals in our Wildlife Habitat Care Centre when you book a YOUR Wildlife Habitat private tour.
