Wild Animals can make excellent friends … sometimes!

If you think your friends are a wild bunch, then you haven’t seen anything yet! At Wildlife Habitat in Port Douglas, you can get up close and personal with kangaroos and emus. You can even have a koala photo taken.

Thanks to our furry friends, we were just named by Bupa Dental Insurance as a top spot to visit if you want guaranteed fun and laughs. Check out the article ‘Put a Smile on your Dial: Fun Places to Go!‘ for plenty of great ideas guaranteed to make you smile. And book your trip! We’ve got plenty of furry, feathered and scaly residents who are sure to put a bright smile on your face.

Bonding Without Borders

At Wildlife Habitat, you have the chance to immerse yourself in the environment. Strike up a conversation with our double-eyed fig parrot. Coax a spotted tail quoll out of its hideout. We believe that our guests can have a richer experience if they actually have a chance to interact with the animals. As you make your way through the four environments within the park, you will have the opportunity to hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies, observe cassowaries and the endangered Lumholtz’s Tree Kangaroos.

While we will always keep our crocodiles and pythons behind safety glass, Wildlife Habitat is designed to let you spend some quality time with everyone from our eastern water dragon to our snuggly koalas. You can literally immerse yourself in the environment, becoming a part of the habitats … we put you in the zoo!

Enjoy breakfast with a few tropical birds at the Curlew Café and Bar, then sign your kids up for a Junior Keepers session (school holidays only) where they can learn about caring for animals and feed them themselves.

Animals Inspire

We want you to walk away from Wildlife Habitat at Port Douglas in absolute awe of the animal kingdom (birds and lizards too!). We love to wander through the park and see our guests enjoying their experience – we haven’t been counting, but we think there’s been thousands of kangaroo and wallaby selfies taken in our Savannah Habitat!

We also have lots of personalities at our park. There’s Neddy the (naughty) cockatoo, Eddie the emu and Bella the Eclectus Parrot … as well as many more! They each have their own unique stories, and love to meet new people.

All of this results in each and every person leaving our park with a smile on their face. It’s hard not to, after spending time with some of Australia’s most incredible native wildlife!

You can’t do that in a normal zoo!
